Myth 2: Muslims were ‘butchered’ in Gujarat

Fact: As we have seen in a couple of earlier chapters, Muslims were equally on the offensive, at least after the first three days. Muslims killed Hindus brutally in Himmatnagar, Danilimda, and Sindhi Market and other areas of Ahmedabad.
The Hindu reported that as early as 1st March 2002 itself, Muslims started violence in Ahmedabad. (See The Hindu’s report on this subject in its issue dated 2nd March 2002). Reports of The Hindu on this subject throughout the months of March and April 2002 make it clear that Muslims were on the offensive, called the shots in many areas, drove out Hindus from their houses, started the riots in many cases. India Today’s report on this subject in its issue dated 15 April 2002 also points out this same thing.
Around 40,000 Hindus were forced to take shelter in refugee camps. The Dalits suffered almost as much as the Muslims in the riots, only at the hands of the Muslims. On 21 March 2002, 50 Hindu shops were burnt in Ahmedabad’s Revdi Bazaar that caused a loss of 15 crore rupees.
The Muslims attacked the Hindus on 1st and 2nd March 2002 as well. They are on record starting as many as 157 riots in Gujarat after 3rd March 2002. They did not allow the police and the Army to search for criminals in their areas. They pelted the police and even the Army with bullets and stones, when they arrived to conduct search operations in Muslim areas. The Muslim women formed human chains and cut off power at night so that the criminals could flee with weapons from the Army.
Three judgments of different courts in Gujarat have sentenced some Muslims for rioting in Ahmedabad and Vadodara, post Godhra. On one occasion, 7 Muslims and on another occasion, 9 Muslims were convicted and punished for rioting and killing after Godhra. This will be seen in detail later.
The conviction of Muslims proves that Muslims were equally on the offensive-and not the cattle hiding from the slaughter house that the media makes them out to be.

Minorities will always be abused anywhere around the world. aaj unka waqt hai,kal kisi aur ka waqt ayega. what goes up comes down with gravity. All i want to tell here is “there is still time to live in harmony. at the end of the day it’s humanity that has to be considered. Lakum di nakum waya deen, you believe what you want to believe. But at the end of the day a harmonios society will defend one another from calamities.
look at karnataka, Belgaum is divided , Hindus are both the Kannadigas and Marathas. Both want Belgaum to go either in Karnataka or Maharashtra. It reminds us of Jaichandra inviting Ghor to come to India and help defeat Prithviraj. Well what looks like is the same is going to repeat. India is a industrious country and these skirmishes will put us behind all the other bi economies. we have a chance to top all, but we are still grouping hatred and talking trash. agey badho aur jiyo. milkar jiyo. aaj ka politician kal ko mareyga, saath kya leyjaeyga, kuch bhi nahi. arey bacho jiyo aur jeeney do.

i guess u have pretty much summed up everything and given a reply to all the people by saying

Well if you want you can become a Prithiviraj Chauhan and forgive them 17 times or become a Shivaji who defended himself and killed Afzal Khan and scared the senses out of Shaistakhan.
The Britishers were civilised people & they never left due to Gandhiji, who was fighting against them with non-violence for 27 years, but because after World War II, Britain could not hold on to its Empire.
These are un-civilised people who want to enforce a culture thats is of medival times on you and me. If you are not still convinced just check the percentages of women wearing burqas has increased in the last 10 years.
So now its time to say “Enough is Enough”. Just as Former Prime Minister John Howard of Australia said in a speech.

i guess ur reply pretty much highlights the problem that i feel we seem to suffer from..the attitude of blaming others, unfortunately, in most situations do not yield solutions, temporary or permanent..
and at a personal level i DONOT believe in being ruthless if they are so..
we donot become ‘kafirs’ if they oor for that matter any else thinks so.on the contrary forgiveness and tolerance elevates mankind closer to god..
but i guess, he question always remain “how much should be tolerated”

We are ready to accept the Muslims, but ask them are they ready to accept the Hindus, we are ready to chant what they say in their mosques, but r they ready to say what we say in our temples, according to them we are kafirs, so please talk about humanity to muslims first, do some research on the net about their intolerance, and then talk about humanity for all

its easy 2 blame..either the hindus or the muslims..so easy
al i have 2 say is that all these atrocities are committed by us humans…its not a story of degenaration of a particular clan or sect or religion…its a degeneration of humanity as a whole..be it muslims,b it hindus,b it christians..b it any one else…
so instead of doin a good job of blaming one should aim their energies in the betterment of humanity as a whole

this so called human right agencies and so called secular think tanks have only aim is to raise issues that has the global attention & populrise themselves.
but they cant raise their voice against attrocities towards hindu kashniri pandits by kashmiri muslims.or hinu bangladeshis in bangladesh,
Real truth is that muslims are more extemist and fanatic than hindus.
whereever there is musliim majority areas they always try to dominate non muslims as non muslims are kafirs according to them.
in india there has been a record of igniting the riot only by the mslim community and hindus only react to their attrocities
You can see even no. one gangster dayd ibrahim who is betrayed to our country still have storng samarthan in muslim aocalities in mumbai.
