Myth 6: Gujarat riots were the ‘worst ever massacre’ in India

Fact: Gujarat riots of 2002 AD were absolutely nothing as compared to Gujarat’s past riots of 1969 and 1985 AD. They were still nothing as compared to Gujarat’s riots of 1980, 1982, 1990, and 1992. And they were again nothing as compared to pre-independence riots of the 1940’s in Ahmedabad when the Hindu community took a sound beating.
Much worse riots took place in New Delhi in 1984 under the Congress Party’s rule. Officially 3,000 people were killed, and actually close to 10,000. Riots were also not limited to New Delhi then. Killings of more than 40,000 Hindus have happened in Jammu and Kashmir state of India. Hardly 1000 people were killed in Gujarat in 2002 AD, for the sins of 2000 Muslims of Godhra. Out of them, more than 250 are Hindus. Post-Godhra riots were neither ‘pogrom’, nor ‘genocide’, nor ‘massacre’. They were not even ‘massacre’, not to talk of the ‘worst-ever massacre in India.’
The worst ever massacre was of the Hindus during the medieval times. Timur massacred some 1 lakh Hindus on a single day in Delhi in 1399. Nadirshah, the invader, massacred many people in 1739 in Delhi. The massacres of Hindus in medieval India would have put Hitler’s Nazi death-chambers of the 1930s to shame. These massacres happened under all the medieval rulers of India. Mahmud of Ghazni also massacred many Hindus in between 1001-1027 AD. Mohammad Ghori also did the same between 1192 to 1206. So did all others. The invaders were like a cloud of locusts destroying and devouring everything on their way.
Looking at the modern, independent India, these riots were still absolutey nothing. The worst ever massacre in independent India was of the Hindus in Kashmir, which continues till date. After that, nothing was worse than the 1984 riots, when the Sikhs were massacred by the ruling Congress Party. In Bhagalpur, Bihar under the Congress rule itself more than 1400 people were killed, most of whom were Muslims, after Muslims threw bombs on Hindu localities, and then suffered in retaliation.

@Human Being, You seem to have missed the point. If you read this site-you will know that there is a special chapter devoted exclusively to Muslims’ suffering in the riots. Nowhere does this author justify the post-Godhra riots. But that doesnt mean that the post-Godhra riots were ‘massacre of Muslims’. They were just plain riots-just like all other riots of India. This author has said that the causes of the minority communities too should be raised. It is the duty to RAISE and UPHOLD the TRUTH which is that the Gujarat riots were plain riots- and not pogrom, genocide or massacre-and that the 2002 riots were absolutely nothing as compared to Gujarat’s past riots.

Its ironic how beautifully the person writing all these myths has tried to justify the riots. I dont want to talk about how politics is involved or how the poor Qutubudin Ansari (who by the way was not pleading with the rioters like you have mentioned in one of your excellent papers written, he was on his knees broken down by the sight of damage he had suffered)had specially posed for the camera, I just want to say that no matter how cruel the politicians may be to put such a dister into action, you seem to be even more heartless to be trying to justify such an act of brutality.

And these shameless Amar singh, Mulayam and Lallu Laluu are telling the UPA(By the people but FOR the religious minority) to ban VHP intead of SIMI

Now the blasts in Ahmedbad should at last awaken the conscience of the media. The media LIES that Muslims were ‘massacred’ in Gujarat are causing more innocent Muslims to fall for terrorism. The media shamelessly rationalizes and/or justifies terrorism.
This also has a lesson for the incompetent Sangh Parivar and the BJP. It is their duty to expose the truth of the Gujarat riots- and file defamation cases against the media and the non-BJP politicians for their lies on the Gujarat riots. Guilty politicians like Amar Singh and his SP are filing cases against BJP leaders-who simply exposed them- while innocent men like Narendra Modi-who have been wrongly targetted by the media and politicians are reamining silent.

In Gujrat Riots, numerous people lost their lives, their properties, their family members and even ethnically cleansened out of their home towns. I agree. But, I consider this as the only first riot in the country in which the majority were Muslims. Anyways, as mentioned beautifully in the article above, Gujarat riots of 2002 AD were absolutely nothing as compared to Gujarat’s past riots of 1969 and 1985 AD. But, I dont understand that why everytime, the latest known genocide upon the Hindus after Partition, that took place in the eastern Bengal province of India, is ignored! Under the Western Pakistani regime, the then East Pakistani (formerly East Bengal, later Bangladesh) Hindus were seriously tortured and their womens were raped and then brutally killed. Why Hindus of India forget “The Great Calcutta Killings” on the Post Independence Direct Action Day. Why Hindus of India forget the Noakhali Massacre of East Bengal where thousands of Hindus were slaughtered during August, 1946 (Post-Independence Period).
In other words, I would like to say that, after the Partition of India, the Sikhs and Sindhis of Western Pakistani were excelentlly settled in the neighbouring India territories of Punjab, Delhi, Gujrat etc. When when it comes the Hindu East Bengali Immigrants, they were left homeless! Some shifted to Tripura, West Bengal and Assam fearing persecution, which later broke out. But here also in the bordering states of East bengal like Meghalaya and Assam, the Hindu Immigrants from Eastern Bengal were called “Dokars” in Meghalaya i,e,. Intruders. And in Assam, the most slang word is used “Kela Bongal”. In this way, Hindus from East Bengal are left Homeless.
That is why, they demand for the return to their own Homeland, East Bengal, from which they migrated 50 years ago. Their demand for the “Bir-Bonga Bhumi” is no Communal, if it is so, then yes they are Communal. Their Demand for the return to their Mother Land is no Terrorit Act, it is so, then yes they are Terrorists.

The Babri Masjid riots were serious all over India, but were worse in East Bengal. Taslima Nasreen’s Lojja specifies that. Thus the Hindu East Bengalis were struck again. Hindus of East Bengal cannot even wear their cultural Lal Paayra Shaari and Shaaka, they cannot perform their religious rites openly. Hindu gentlemens cannot wear Dhoti, fearing persecution!
And when this East Bengali Hindus came to India after Babri Masjid riots in innumerous numbers, they were not even given Refugee Status, if given in some case also, they had to start a new livelihood. They lost their origin, their properties, their womens but yet they did not convert to Islam!
But what have Indian Hindus got to do with that. They only know their Bihar, their U.P. and their Maharashtra and thats all.
